What's the difference between the relationship where he makes the effort for you and the one where he doesn't seem to be that bothered? Apart, that is, from the fact that it makes you as a woman feel either fantastic or pretty awful. We've all known or heard of that guy who just won't fully commit to a woman and then the next minute that relationship ends and he's standing at the alter with someone else. That's because, when he's not sure, you'll always get the watered down non-committal version of a relationship. But the woman who simply won't settle for that will draw him in to get and retain his special attention.

A committed relationship looks like this ...

So, what does a relationship really look like when he's committed and really into you? Here are some pointers:

A "he's not quite sure" relationship looks like this ...

Contrast this with what we often see in many women's new relationships:

How to go from "he's not quite sure" to a committed relationship

Do your relationships generally fall into the first category or the second? My guess is, that for most women reading this, it will be the second. The truth is that, after the initial attraction, it's how you act with him that will turn his attraction levels up or down. If he sees that you're so crazy about him that you'll do anything for him - that's a down. He'll probably still let you do a lot of running while he sits back in his ambiguity. He's not quite sure. And if you put up with his ropey behaviour while giving him a hard time about it, you will only add to his uncertainty.

If he sees that he has to win your affections, and he is free and sufficiently attracted to want to pursue you, then it's good to go - making sure that you proceed slowly and with caution. You have to put your desires and impulses to the side in favour of drawing him in.

By taking it slowly, without neediness, you make sure that his feelings for you grow to a crescendo, or you part gracefully, without putting yourself through the torture of falling for him and having him act indifferently to you. It's your choice to throw yourself in there and risk him running for cover or to hold back a bit, retain a little bit of mystery and have him wanting more. Attitude is everything in dating - the right attitude gets the right guy, with the right behaviour for the right relationship that every woman dreams of.
